They show a couple scuff marks on the outside, but I only skated on them about 10 times. Inside is a very comfortable padded leather lining including the tongue. I skate exclusively on ice now and my feet are much bigger. But if you want a similar feeling to speedskating on ice, these inline skates are perfect for that. Note about sizing: These skates are a size 9 US, EUR 42.

But on the bottom of the insole, it has two numbers. I dont know if 4205 meant a European 42 (which is the same as a US 9) but the 7 ½. Is a mystery that doesnt make sense. Despite that marking, this is definitely a US 9, which is what every athletic shoe size I had at that time.

It also had the size 9 on the inside of the tongue, but with the passage of 30 years, you cant read it on the tongue anymore. I attached a photo of one of the insoles next to a ruler and you can see its10.3 inches, which is also US size 9 according to Zappos Shoes. If you are a US size 9 regular (or size 8 ½ regular) these should fit you perfectly. If you are a size 9 ½ or 10, or you wear a wide shoe, these will be too small. So measure your feet carefully. If all your shoes are 9 or 8 ½ in a regular or narrow width, yous hould have no problems.
